Get Certified in “Non-Toxic Cleaning”!
December 6th we held our first ever non-toxic cleaning training. During the session we discussed the dangers of cleaning products that contain toxic chemicals, ways to stay safe while cleaning, and non-toxic cleaning alternatives. At the end of the session, participants were certified in non-toxic cleaning!
Here are a couple cleaning tips:
1) Always read product labels and be on the look-out for the following signal words/Siempre lea las advertencias en la etiqueta y busca por estos palabras:
Caution/Precaucion
Warning/Aviso
Danger/Peligro
Poison/Veneno
Corrosive/Corrosivo
Flammable/Inflamable
Products with these labels are likely to be harmful/Productos con estos palabras sea perjudicial!
2) Always protect yourself/Protega su mismo siempre!
Wear gloves, masks, and goggles to prevent exposure to toxic chemicals/Use guantes, lentes de proteccion, y mascaras
If you have to use dangerous products, use a buddy-system in case of emergencies/Si tienes que usar productos peligrosos, pidale a alguien que este presente
3) Never mix AMONIA & BLEACH/Nunca mezcle AMONIA con Clorox!
This creates dangerous chemical reactions/Esta mezcle forma gases venenosos!
